Upgrade to the existing electrical installation to meet current electrical regulations
THE OPPORTUNITY
BPC Energy were awarded this project as an upgrade to the existing electrical installation to bring it up to meet current electrical regulations.
One BPC manufactured Medical IPS 10kVA systems with 12 x MCB’s (MIPS10-12) was installed to provide absolute physical, electric and electronic independence to the clinic.
The IPS systems was installed with an internal auto changeover device allowing additional independent supply to be fed into the IPS increasing its availability.
THE SOLUTION
BPC Energy increased resilience for the MIPS by providing the BPC PowerPro EF 20kVA medical UPS system with a matching closed battery cabinet system, designed to be flexible and house a variety of VRLA sealed lead acid battery combination options.
In addition, 1 x 4.3” touch screen Medical Local Alarm Panel (MLAP) was installed which ensures the UPS and IPS systems can be monitored in their required location for any normal and abnormal conditions. 1 x Equipotential Bonding Busbar (EBB) was provided to include supplementary equipotential bonding & connection points, and 1 x 100A - 3 Pole three phase External Maintenance Bypass (EMBS) to allow for essential maintenance of the equipment without interruption to the critical load.
THE OUTCOME
BPC successfully delivered and positioned MIPS, UPS, MLAP, EBB & EMBS to the suitable location within the clinic, carrying out commissioning and full testing of all equipment to ensure an effortless handover.
