Upgrade to the existing electrical installation to meet current electrical regulations
BPC Energy were awarded this project as an upgrade to the existing electrical installation to bring it up to meet current electrical regulations.
One BPC manufactured Medical IPS 10kVA systems with 12 x MCB’s (MIPS10-12) was installed to provide absolute physical, electric and electronic independence to the clinic.
The IPS systems was installed with an internal auto changeover device allowing additional independent supply to be fed into the IPS increasing its availability.
BPC Energy increased resilience for the MIPS by providing the BPC PowerPro EF 20kVA medical UPS system with a matching closed battery cabinet system, designed to be flexible and house a variety of VRLA sealed lead acid battery combination options.
In addition, 1 x 4.3” touch screen Medical Local Alarm Panel (MLAP) was installed which ensures the UPS and IPS systems can be monitored in their required location for any normal and abnormal conditions. 1 x Equipotential Bonding Busbar (EBB) was provided to include supplementary equipotential bonding & connection points, and 1 x 100A - 3 Pole three phase External Maintenance Bypass (EMBS) to allow for essential maintenance of the equipment without interruption to the critical load.
BPC successfully delivered and positioned MIPS, UPS, MLAP, EBB & EMBS to the suitable location within the clinic, carrying out commissioning and full testing of all equipment to ensure an effortless handover.
The safe, intelligent and reliable range of products supplied are ideally suited to medical locations, thereby ensuring the facility can continue without interruption in the event of power disruptions.
Healthcare professionals are safe in the knowledge that BPC MIPS is at the forefront of patient safety, absolute reliability and power availability.
All BPC MIPS systems are provided with a full 5-year warranty giving the customer peace of mind that their equipment is guaranteed long-term.
“The install location that we had was in a limited space within an existing plant room, and it was on the first floor of the building where there was no lift. The job was spec’d out pretty well in advance and our local electrician who was involved in the original construction of our hospital collaborated well with the BPC team ensuring that the necessary supply and distribution works were completed ahead of time. The BPC team showed up per plan and the whole setup, installation and commissioning was done within the allotted 4-day period without any interruption to our ongoing business. Once connected the entire system worked without any hitches and overall, as a customer we are very happy with the service.”
